The Book Thief by Markus Zusak.
I picked this book up because well I kept seeing it at the bookstore. I don’t read much fiction at all. It’s not for lack of trying I just happen to have a shorter strand of patience when it comes to fiction. If I don’t like it I will simply stop reading.
But, I liked this book! A lot! It helped that it was about a time period that I know about and it was easy to read. That sounds like I am writing a book report for my sixth grade English class but it’s true. Heh.
The book was about a girl named Liesel who uh, steals books. It takes place in Germany during WW2 and the narrator is Death. I don’t wanna spoil anything else. But for a book about concerning WW2 it wasn’t as depressing as I feared it would be. It was very Vonnegut-esque and Vonnegut is always v. comforting to me.
